Need a consultation but unable to come to the clinic?

Extend Physiotherapy is pleased to offer physiotherapy consultations to clients who are unable to attend the clinic. With Telehealth consultations we will continue to deliver high class client-centred care, where our experienced physiotherapists will develop a tailored treatment plan designed to get you back to your best. We have the capacity for over the phone or web-based physiotherapy to assist you.

With Telehealth, your physiotherapist will contact you via video chat on your mobile phone or your computer.

To be eligible for a Telehealth consultation, complete an intake form. Please contact one of our friendly staff to receive a form and get started

Frequently Asked Questions

Is My Injury Suitable For A Telehealth Consult?

Most musculoskeletal injuries are suitable for telehealth physiotherapy consultations. We can guide you through your treatment with modern telehealth. If we believe your injury is not suitable for a telehealth consultation, we will advise you, and you won’t be charged for the consultation.

The intake form allows us to determine if you are suited to telehealth or of another form of service. It gives us the information to focus on your treatment.

If you are unsure whether your injury is suitable or not, give us a call or send us an email. We will let you know!

Can I Get A Private Health Rebate For Telehealth?

Currently, most private health providers and Medicare do rebate for Telehealth consultations. Please check with your health fund for more details.

How Do I Pay For A Session?

After your Telehealth session, one of our reception staff will contact you to arrange payment either over the phone using a credit card or you may pay using direct debit.

How Will A Physio Diagnose Or Treat My Injury Without Touching Me?

All physiotherapy appointments include a ‘subjective assessment’. The physio will ask you a series of questions designed to help diagnose your injury, without the need to touch you. By the end of the assessment, we will have a clear idea of your probable diagnosis. With the use of some easy to follow instructions we will ask you to perform some simple tests aiding in confirming the diagnosis.

At Extend Physiotherapy, we aim to use manual therapy when helpful. While this is our preferred method of practice, if you are unable to attend your appointment due to illness or isolation, we are able to help you. By educating you about your condition and showing you self-release techniques as a manual therapy alternative, we will aid your injury management. Treatment also identifies contributing factors from daily activities. We will send a structured exercise program to you. This will aid your care until such time you can return to the clinic.

We encourage clients to call us if they have concerns about any exercises or questions about their injury. Please feel free to email your physiotherapist directly for confirmation or reassurance at any time.
