Casting or splinting is often required to manage acute fractures and ligament injuries. Application of a fibreglass or plaster of paris cast, under direction from your treating doctor or specialist, will usually be worn for 4-6 weeks. At this point further x-rays may be required pre or post removal. Our physios have extensive training in cast application and removal and will discuss whether a cast or splint is the most appropriate form of treatment for you.
